The 1,685 players reflect the teams’ published **Active** tables. Counts may differ from 53. Practice squad, reserve/injured, suspended and other separately listed groups are excluded. Every player retains an official profile URL. Rosters are dated snapshots, not a live transaction feed.

## Official portrait sources

All 1,685 players have a portrait URL and source page in HEADSHOTS. 1663 are sourced from official roster pages. 22 missing or generic roster images are resolved through individual NFL.com profiles:

Every URL returned image content in GitHub checks. Images load from official servers; no photo binaries are bundled. Failed images use jersey numbers. Historical Vega Ioane, Nathan/Nate Thomas and Kenny Moore II mappings remain intact.

The NFC South was deployed and confirmed live before NFC West work began. All twenty-eight existing teams’ metadata, roster records, portrait mappings and save keys were preserved in the final expansion.

Images remain the property of their respective rights holders. Public availability is not a license grant; no independent display or redistribution license has been established. URLs, availability and photographed uniforms may change. The project is not affiliated with the NFL or its teams.

## Navigation, rankings and positions

Two conference buttons lead to four divisions each, with four teams per division. Each conference and division remembers the last selected team. Rankings remain separate for each team and position filter, saved in the visitor’s browser.

HB/FB group with RB; line positions with OL; DT/DE/NT with DL; EDGE/ILB/OLB with LB; CB/S with DB; K/P/LS/RS/KR/PR with ST. Official position labels remain on cards. Multi-role players can appear in multiple filters: Travis Hunter in WR/DB, Barion Brown in WR/ST, once each in full-team rankings.

## Palettes

TEAM_INFO contains every team’s palette and brighter UI highlights. New West colors: Arizona cardinal red/black (#97233F/#000000), Los Angeles Rams Royal/Sol (#003594/#FFD100), San Francisco red/gold (#AA0000/#B3995D), and Seattle navy/action green (#002244/#69BE28). Existing palettes are unchanged.

Rams color names and RGB values are documented in their [official media guide](https://static.www.nfl.com/image/upload/league/apps/league-site/media-guides/2021/LAR.pdf), and Royal/Sol are retained in the [2026 brand refresh](https://www.therams.com/news/rams-unveil-uniform-brand-refresh-ahead-of-2026-season). Color values do not imply a licensed style guide or team approval.

## Export behavior

Every selected ranking fits in one image using featured top-three cards and adaptive columns. Desktop offers nine sizes, PNG/JPG/WebP and All/Top 10/Top 25. Mobile offers 1:1, 3:4, 4:5 and 9:16, automatic PNG and the same ranges. Pagination and ZIP controls stay hidden. Dense formats use smaller text; full player names are retained.

Cards are generated in the visitor’s browser without uploading rankings. Mobile uses a ready PNG file for native sharing and a real PNG preview for press-and-hold saving. Actual iPhone Photos menus still need physical-device validation. Missing or CORS-restricted portraits use jerseys. Generating a card does not confer additional image rights.

## Team logos in exported images

Unmodified team logos load directly from the same NFL static logo service used on NFL team pages: `https://static.www.nfl.com/t_q-best/league/api/clubs/logos/{code}`. The Rams use `LA` and Washington uses `WAS`; ranking/save identifiers remain unchanged. Examples: [Ravens](https://www.nfl.com/teams/baltimore-ravens/), [Rams](https://www.nfl.com/teams/los-angeles-rams/), [Commanders](https://www.nfl.com/teams/washington-commanders/).

The image loader uses anonymous CORS requests so a failed or restricted logo cannot taint the export canvas. If unavailable, plain team initials appear without a placeholder box. NFL logo files are not bundled or altered; NBA logo assets are described below. Logos and marks remain the property of the NFL and the respective teams; no independent redistribution license or team endorsement has been established.

## GitHub-only development and validation

Roster retrieval, source preparation, checks, browser dependencies, test downloads and screenshots remain on GitHub. The workflow has read-only repository access and cannot commit or push. Generated source is reviewed before committing through repository tools. No site files or development dependencies are downloaded to the user’s Mac.

Passing checks cover 320 team/position combinations, all 1,685 image URLs, both conferences and all eight divisions, state isolation and migration, undo, multi-position players, every team’s browser flow, all NFC mobile PNG exports, four viewport sizes, desktop’s 27 size/encoding variants, complete single-image layouts, all 32 team logos, and mobile Chromium/WebKit saving, fallback and cancellation.

## NBA — Eastern Conference, Atlantic Division

Official NBA.com team-page structured roster snapshots, verified November 6, 2026 (America/New_York). Every player listed in each team's roster array is included, including listed supplemental/two-way players; this is not a game-day active list or a live transaction feed. NFL snapshots and portrait mappings were not refreshed.

| Team | Roster players | Official source | Team ID |
| --- | ---: | --- | --- |
| Boston Celtics | 17 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612738/celtics | 1610612738 |
| Brooklyn Nets | 18 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612751/nets | 1610612751 |
| New York Knicks | 17 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612752/knicks | 1610612752 |
| Philadelphia 76ers | 17 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612755/76ers | 1610612755 |
| Toronto Raptors | 17 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612761/raptors | 1610612761 |

Player IDs, jersey numbers, names and G/F/C positions come directly from `props.pageProps.team.roster`. Hybrid labels such as F-G and C-F are retained on cards and included in both relevant filters, without duplicates in All.

Headshot identities were verified against NBA.com player profiles and the official 1040×760 endpoints. For reliable display and browser image exports, 84 unmodified official 260×190 PNG thumbnails are hosted in `assets/nba/headshots/`; their NBA source URLs and SHA-256 hashes are recorded in `assets/nba/headshots/manifest.json`. All 86 original endpoints were checked. 84 returned distinct portrait images; Dillon Mitchell (1641759) and Jaden Akins (1643022) returned the same generic image at both 1040×760 and 260×190. These two NBA placeholders are now replaced by verified ESPN team portraits; see the ESPN overrides below.

The five unmodified NBA logo SVGs are hosted in `assets/nba/logos/` for reliable same-origin image exports. They were retrieved on GitHub from `https://cdn.nba.com/logos/nba/{teamId}/primary/L/logo.svg`. Primary/secondary palette values follow the visible colors in those official NBA logo assets: Celtics green/gold (#008348/#BB9753), Nets black/white, Knicks blue/orange (#1D428A/#F58426), 76ers blue/red (#1D428A/#C8102E) and Raptors red/black (#BC2126/#000000). Brighter highlights are used for readability.

Images and marks remain the property of the NBA and their respective rights holders. Public URLs do not establish an independent redistribution license or endorsement. Official images may become unavailable; failed images use the existing jersey fallback.

NBA uses separate `nba-sorter-v1` ranking keys and selection preferences; NFL `nfl-sorter-v3` keys and migration behavior remain intact. The common appearance preference applies across sports.

The sharing preview is a static composite of official NFL and NBA marks; it is not a league affiliation or a user's submitted ranking.

## NBA — Eastern Conference, Central Division

Verified November 6, 2026 (America/New_York), after the Atlantic release. These records are additive in `nba-central-data.js`; the NFL and Atlantic source data files are unchanged.

| Team | Roster players | Official source | Team ID |
| --- | ---: | --- | --- |
| Chicago Bulls | 17 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612741/bulls | 1610612741 |
| Cleveland Cavaliers | 17 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612739/cavaliers | 1610612739 |
| Detroit Pistons | 18 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612765/pistons | 1610612765 |
| Indiana Pacers | 17 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612754/pacers | 1610612754 |
| Milwaukee Bucks | 18 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612749/bucks | 1610612749 |

All 87 listed Central players have distinct official 260×190 PNG portraits, hosted alongside the Atlantic assets in `assets/nba/headshots/`. Source URLs, byte sizes and SHA-256 hashes are recorded in `central-manifest.json`. The generic-placeholder check found no Central fallbacks. The two Atlantic NBA placeholders are resolved by the ESPN overrides below.

The five unmodified official NBA logo SVGs are hosted in `assets/nba/logos/`. Primary/secondary colors follow their visible NBA logo assets: Bulls red/black (#CD1F43/#000000), Cavaliers wine/gold (#860038/#BC945C), Pistons red/blue (#C8102E/#1D428A), Pacers navy/yellow (#0C2340/#FFD520), and Bucks green/cream (#00471A/#EDE0C5). Brighter UI highlights preserve text contrast.

The shared G/F/C filter rules and NBA save namespace apply to both divisions. Cleveland, Detroit and Indianapolis NBA codes remain isolated from the NFL teams using CLE, DET and IND. Rights and snapshot limitations above continue to apply.

## NBA — Eastern Conference, Southeast Division

Verified November 6, 2026 (America/New_York). Additive records in `nba-southeast-data.js` complete the 15-team Eastern Conference; NFL, Atlantic and Central source files are unchanged.

| Team | Roster players | Official source | Team ID |
| --- | ---: | --- | --- |
| Atlanta Hawks | 18 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612737/hawks | 1610612737 |
| Charlotte Hornets | 18 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612766/hornets | 1610612766 |
| Miami Heat | 17 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612748/heat | 1610612748 |
| Orlando Magic | 17 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612753/magic | 1610612753 |
| Washington Wizards | 18 | https://www.nba.com/team/1610612764/wizards | 1610612764 |

The 88 listed Southeast players include 87 distinct official 260×190 PNG portraits hosted in `assets/nba/headshots/`. Source URLs and SHA-256 hashes are recorded in `southeast-manifest.json`. Henri Veesaar (1643539) returned a generic NBA placeholder and is now covered by the ESPN overrides below.

Five unmodified official NBA logo SVGs are hosted in `assets/nba/logos/`. Palette values follow their visible colors: Hawks red/white (#E03A3E/#FFFFFF), Hornets teal/purple (#00788C/#1D1160), Heat red/gold (#961A31/#F9A11E), Magic blue/ink (#0050B5/#061922), and Wizards navy/red (#002B5C/#E21936). Brighter UI highlights preserve readability.

The shared NBA G/F/C filters, single-image exports and save namespace apply to Southeast. ATL and MIA are isolated from NFL teams using those codes. Image ownership, availability and snapshot limitations above continue to apply.

## ESPN portrait overrides — November 6, 2026

ESPN team roster responses and visual inspection confirmed current team portraits for Dillon Mitchell (Celtics, ESPN 5106283), Jaden Akins (Knicks, ESPN 4683730), and Henri Veesaar (Hawks, ESPN 5105571). Their unmodified 600×436 PNGs are hosted alongside the NBA images for reliable cards and canvas exports. All 261 NBA players now have portraits. `assets/nba/headshots/espn-overrides.json` records the profile URLs, original image URLs, dimensions, bytes and SHA-256 hashes; division manifests include these replacements too. The roster snapshots and ranking save keys are unchanged.

ESPN images remain the property of their respective rights holders. Public access does not establish an independent redistribution license or endorsement. No additional image license has been verified; failed images retain the existing jersey fallback.

## NBA Western Conference — Northwest Division

Verified November 6, 2026 from NBA.com structured team rosters: Denver Nuggets (17), Minnesota Timberwolves (16), Oklahoma City Thunder (18), Portland Trail Blazers (17), Utah Jazz (18). The 86 additional players bring the site to 20 NBA teams and 347 players. Includes supplemental/two-way players listed by NBA.com; a snapshot rather than a live transaction feed.

Source URLs and official logo URLs are recorded in `assets/nba/headshots/northwest-manifest.json`. All 86 Northwest portraits are unmodified NBA.com PNGs hosted in GitHub, with source URLs, dimensions and SHA-256 hashes. Team primary/accent colors are taken directly from their current official NBA SVG logos, including Minnesota's blue/green, Portland's red, and Utah's purple. Existing NFL and Eastern Conference data files are unchanged.

For this and future NBA additions, missing, failed or generic NBA.com portraits are checked against ESPN's roster for the same team. An unambiguous normalized full-name match is required before using ESPN's supplied headshot URL; images are visually checked if this path is used. NBA.com remains the primary source. No Northwest fallback was needed. Images and logos remain the property of their respective rights holders; public availability does not establish an independent redistribution license or endorsement.

## NBA Western Conference — Pacific Division

Verified November 6, 2026 from NBA.com structured team rosters: Golden State Warriors (18), LA Clippers (19), Los Angeles Lakers (18), Phoenix Suns (17), Sacramento Kings (17). All 89 listed players have distinct unmodified NBA portraits; no ESPN fallback was required. The site now includes 25 NBA teams and 436 players. Source roster URLs, logo URLs, portrait URLs, dimensions and SHA-256 hashes are recorded in `assets/nba/headshots/pacific-manifest.json`. Palettes use exact colors in official NBA team SVGs, including the Clippers' navy and white. Existing snapshots and save keys remain unchanged. The same ESPN fallback policy and image-rights limitations above apply.

## NBA Western Conference — Southwest Division; NBA complete

Verified November 6, 2026 from NBA.com structured team rosters: Dallas Mavericks (18), Houston Rockets (17), Memphis Grizzlies (18), New Orleans Pelicans (18), San Antonio Spurs (17). All 88 listed players have distinct unmodified NBA portraits; no ESPN fallback was required. All 30 NBA teams and 524 players are now included. Source roster URLs, official logo URLs, portrait URLs, dimensions and SHA-256 hashes are recorded in `assets/nba/headshots/southwest-manifest.json`. Palettes use exact colors in official NBA team SVGs. Existing snapshots and save keys are unchanged. The ESPN secondary-source policy and image-rights limitations above apply.

## Weekly verification and historical rosters

The frozen figures and dates above document the initial snapshots. Current data is supplied by `weekly-rosters.js`, loaded after those baseline files. The scheduled GitHub workflow checks both sports each Tuesday at 08:00 America/New_York and records per-team results in `assets/roster-refresh-status.json`. Scheduled jobs can be delayed by GitHub; verification dates advance only for successfully checked teams.

NFL rosters use each team's official Active table. NBA rosters use NBA.com's structured roster array, including supplemental/two-way players listed there. Player names, official team identity, allowed positions, unique identities, reasonable roster counts and headshot provenance are checked. Existing NFL identities are matched first by full official profile URL, then an unambiguous same-team name; newly added or ambiguous same-name players receive distinct source-derived IDs. A shared name alone never merges players on different teams. The Vega Ioane headshot correction remains in place.

NBA.com is the primary portrait source. Missing, failed or known generic NBA images use an unambiguous player match in ESPN's roster for the same team. Public image availability still does not establish an independent redistribution license, endorsement, or guarantee that a provider has updated every uniform. New NBA PNGs are stored immutably under `assets/roster-headshots/` with source metadata and SHA-256 hashes in their records. NFL headshots continue to use official remotely hosted portraits.

Previous roster snapshots and their portrait mappings are archived before replacement. Existing shared links select their original roster through `assets/roster-snapshots/index.json`; malformed or unavailable snapshots never replace a recipient's own ranking. Existing browser progress can continue with its original players. Switching to the newest roster archives the previous ranking locally rather than silently adding, deleting or reordering players.

A failed team source, unresolved new portrait or unexpected roster reduction retains the team's last published roster and date. Cross-team identity conflicts retain the whole affected league. Candidates publish only after data and browser checks; failures leave the live site intact. The first deployment is a validated refresh, and subsequent runs follow the Tuesday schedule. All work takes place on GitHub.

## League-wide position pools

The By position tab aggregates the same verified team snapshots across each sport. Players are ordered by stable ID before comparison, included once per matching group, and retain their actual club. NFL uses the existing QB/RB/WR/TE/OL/DL/LB/DB/ST groups; NBA uses the official G/F/C classifications, including hybrid memberships. These are favorites rankings rather than performance/statistical rankings.

Each pool's verification date is the oldest verification among its sport's source teams, so a retained source is not presented as newly verified. The Tuesday refresh archives each position pool with names, roles, club membership and portrait mappings. League share links use a versioned 16-bit permutation and a club-aware roster stamp; existing team links retain their original format.

No additional roster scraping or image providers are introduced for this feature. Team headshots and marks keep the existing rights limitations above. The two league-mode sport icons are original SVG artwork created for Fan Favorites and are not official NFL/NBA logos. Dense image exports use bounded thumbnail loading and higher output resolution; very large full lists are best viewed at their saved resolution, with Top 10 and Top 25 available for simpler sharing.

## League-wide NFL eligibility (November 7, 2026)

League-wide rankings use 2026 regular-season activity: QB 50 passing attempts; RB 25 rushes or 10 receptions; WR/TE 10 receptions. Defensive groups are IDL (50%), DE (25%), ILB (60%), EDGE (40%), CB (65%), and S (60%). Defensive share is weighted against team defensive opportunities in games with a recorded player appearance; an appearance with only special-teams snaps remains in that denominator. Qualified injured players and the explicit approved notable-player inclusions are retained. No absolute defensive-snap floor is applied. Offensive line now has LT, RT, LG, RG and C league-wide pools. Each has a hard cap of 40 players. The lowest total 2026 offensive-snap cutoff in increments of 25 that meets each cap is chosen, retaining ties together; caps include qualified injured players. ESPN depth charts resolve sides, with one primary listed slot per player. Team rankings retain complete rosters; Special Teams is no longer a selectable category.

The approved reviewed launch pools are QB 41, RB 72, WR 95, TE 48, IDL 61, DE 59, ILB 65, EDGE 63, CB 81, S 71. Counts can change with verified weekly updates. The initial pool was intentionally pinned to the reviewed roster snapshot; subsequent roster transactions are handled by the Tuesday refresh.

NFL.com provides regular-season attempts and receptions; official club roster tables identify active and injury-reserve players. ESPN roster and depth charts resolve detailed defensive roles. Defensive snap counts and player-ID crosswalks are from [nflverse-data](https://github.com/nflverse/nflverse-data), sourced from Pro Football Reference. nflverse data is distributed under [CC BY 4.0](https://github.com/nflverse/nflverse-data/blob/main/LICENSE.md); see its [snap-count dictionary](https://nflreadr.nflverse.com/articles/dictionary_snap_counts.html). The approved rules, explicit exceptions and reviewed identities are in assets/nfl-position-policy.json; the latest verification status is assets/nfl-position-status.json.

The Tuesday workflow stages and validates eligibility on GitHub alongside roster updates. Partial/paginated source failures, ambiguous identities or roles, and missing portrait provenance stop publication and preserve the previous public snapshot. Historical ranking snapshots and old Special Teams/DL/LB/DB share links remain available. NFL/team portrait URLs retain provider provenance; availability does not establish a separate image or logo license.

### Five offensive-line pools

The reviewed launch pools are LT 40 (125 offensive snaps), RT 39 (50), LG 36 (150), RG 40 (100), and C 40 (100). These are total 2026 regular-season offensive snaps, not defensive snaps or snap percentages. The Tuesday refresh recalculates the cutoffs to keep every pool at or below 40. Some pools can be smaller when ties cross a cutoff. Existing combined-OL rankings and archived links remain readable. Precise official left/right positions take priority; otherwise ESPN's best-depth slot determines the side, with the first listed slot used for same-depth multi-position backups. Injured players absent from the depth chart can use precise snap-source/roster roles; unresolved participating identities or sides stop publication. NFL and NBA center categories are scoped separately.

### Approved zero-appearance injury exceptions (November 7, 2026)

The user approved Micah Parsons, Jordyn Tyson, Kerby Joseph, Laremy Tunsil, Ikem Ekwonu, Tyler Biadasz, Harold Landry III, Jalon Walker, Nic Scourton, Ricky Pearsall, Bryan Bresee and Josh Simmons. These named exceptions remain eligible during weekly updates even below the statistical minimum. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Jayden Higgins, Denzel Perryman and Jamal Adams were not approved as exceptions.

OL injury exceptions occupy places within the existing 40-player caps. The lowest qualifying multiple-of-25 snap cutoff is recalculated with exceptions included; ties remain together. This review yields LT 39 at 150 snaps and C 40 at 150 snaps, including three LT exceptions and one C exception. Other OL cutoffs are unchanged. Updated WR/IDL/EDGE/S counts are 97/62/67/72. Historical rankings keep their original player pools.
